Rapid and Cost-Effective Assessment of the Neutral and Acid Detergent Fiber Fractions of Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) by Combining Modified PLS and Visible with Near-Infrared Spectroscopy

The near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) combined with modified partial least squares (modified PLS) regression was used for determining the neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and acid (ADF) fractions of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) seed. Fifty accessions (24 desi 26 kabuli types) fifty recombinant inbred lines F5:6 derived from a × cross were evaluated NDF ADF, scanned by NIRS. ADF values regressed against different spectral transformations regression. coefficients determination in cross-validation standard deviation error ratio were, NDF, 0.91 3.37, 0.98 6.73, respectively, showing high potential NIRS to assess these components screening or quality control purposes. information provided chromophores existing seed highly correlated composition seed, and, thus, those electronic transitions are influenced on model fitting fiber.
